Ecological Science Across Industries
Wetlands and ecological concerns often arise during project development. However, this does not mean the end of a project, because at Epsilon we are experts at navigating the permitting process. We provide workable solutions for our clients who range from utilities and state agencies to institutions and commercial developers.
Our strong understanding of issues related to wetlands, waterways, and state and federally listed endangered species enables us to successfully navigate the permitting process!
Through close coordination with other services at Epsilon such as GIS, Coastal & Marine, and Real Estate Permitting we are able to provide a comprehensive approach for wetlands-related permitting from the initial phase of a project starting with site due diligence review, to wetland delineation, and construction completion.
Our team has extensive permitting experience and established working relationships with federal, state, and local authorities including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP), New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), and many local Conservation Commissions.
Expertise in Endangered and Rare Species Services and Airport Wildlife Hazard Assessments
Our expertise in specialty services such as rare species services is particularly useful for energy facilities and utility infrastructure, institutional expansions, mixed-use projects, residential developments, and airport expansions.
Our staff of ecologists guides clients through the state and federal endangered species regulatory review and permitting processes. This includes town natural resource inventories, habitat assessments, vegetation community mapping, rare species surveys, and rare species conservation permits.
Epsilon is proud of our role in helping airports throughout the Commonwealth remain compliant and safe. As part of this role, we support a range of projects from runway expansions and realignments to producing Wildlife Hazard Assessments (WHAs). A member of our ecological sciences team is a qualified airport wildlife biologist who meets the requirements of Federal Aviation Administration Advisory Circular 150/5200-36 to provide airports with these documents.
