RoxWind Blade Signing Ceremony

October 1st, 2021

While offshore wind may be capturing the spotlight, let’s not overlook onshore wind! For more than 15 years, our acoustics team has been involved in the onshore wind energy market providing expertise and guidance on sound level issues. In June 2021, they had a unique opportunity to attend an exciting event celebrating the RoxWind wind project in Roxbury, Maine. The event, attended by more than 100 people, included a special blade signing and dedication ceremony, as well as a tour of the project.

Managing Principal Rob O’Neal attended on behalf of Epsilon. He was able to see the wind turbines up close as construction neared completion. For the RoxWind project, Epsilon’s acoustics group did all the sound modeling and shadow flicker modeling for their Small Wind Certification permit from the State of Maine. The project consists of four GE-3.8 MW turbines with a rotor diameter of 137 meters and hub height of 81.5 meters. It is expected to be operational by the end of 2021. Congratulations to RoxWind on this accomplishment, and bravo on your support of Team Hailey Hugs, a wonderful charity working to support families affected by childhood cancer. Epsilon looks forward to supporting you on many successful future endeavors!
