POSITION SUMMARY
Epsilon is seeking one or more full-time Project Managers for our newly formed Energy Services practice. This position will support the natural resource surveys and environmental permitting on a wide range of energy projects including electric transmission / distribution, battery energy storage, solar, natural gas and both onshore and offshore wind generation. The successful candidate will be able to effectively manage a diversity of projects simultaneously with the ability to develop and manage budgets, interface with clients and regulators and develop new and repeat business opportunities in the energy sector.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Management of projects from concept through completion. Project scopes may vary in scale from integrity / maintenance through large capital expansions.
- Preparation and review of federal, state, and local environmental permit applications and technical reports including, but not limited to; MA Wetlands Protection Act, New York State DES Article 15 and 24, Section 401/404 Permitting, MA Chapter 91 Waterways, and MEPA/NEPA submittals;
- Development of project schedules, budgets and proposals, tracking and reporting on project financial and task metrics, management and mentoring of junior staff and clear and effective communication with clients; and
- Development of new business opportunities through existing clients or marketing efforts as part of an Epsilon team; and
- Representing Epsilon at conferences, trade shows and career fairs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in a natural resource-related field including wetland science, biology, ecology, wildlife management, soil science or botany; Master of Science degree is preferred.
- 7-10+ years of relevant professional experience in management of natural resource surveys and environmental permitting projects with a particular emphasis on federal and state wetlands / NEPA permitting in New England and New York.
- General environmental consulting experience in the energy market sector, including but not limited to; traditional and renewable generation facilities, electric and natural gas transmission/distribution, and energy storage projects.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, clients and staff;
- Understanding of federal, state and local environmental statutes and regulations;
- Superior writing and oral communication skills;
- Proven ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously as part of a multidisciplinary project team; and
- Willingness to travel as necessary within the Northeast.
In addition to the Preferred Qualifications, the Candidate must have a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle for business travel, including proper insurance and registration and have all necessary paperwork to work in the USA.
